this video is really slick, huge fan. i like this song, but ye singing the hook just has way too much autotune layered on it, and it’s drowning nearly everything out. everything else is good, though. think hudson’s album will be a huge surprise to all.

Many of you may ask, Why ANTICIPATION? Well lets break it down shall we:
An⋅tic⋅i⋅pa⋅tion [an-tis-uh-pey-shuhn] -noun
1. realization in advance, intuition; foretaste.
2. Musically – a tone introduced in advance of its harmony so that it sounds against the preceding chord.Musically, I’m currently in a creative space like no other. I feel as though whenever a mic is put in front of me, I can do no wrong. At a time in the music industry where album sales are low, fans are fickle, inconsistent, or more into the various songs than they are the particular artist, I feel that I must give u a reason to love me. Embed in you a desire to love me and an appreciation for the music. I must show you that not only do I LOVE what I do but I also do it well.
The creation of ANTICIPATION began after I presented READY to my label the first time. I just started recording on my days off and the music felt great and decided that I’d rather share the music than let it sit and be idle. This is music without politics, without creative boundaries.
Troy (my mentor and founder & CEO of Songbook Ent.) and I have been making music since I was 15. There was a time when thoughts of monotonous melodies or redundant choruses wasn’t THE KEY to making a hit record. Music that just felt good. Although they’re present at times the boundaries are endless in this body of work, giving you a (1) realization in advance to READY.
What do I mean by READY? Well, lets do this one more time.

i’m actually late to the entire transformers franchise as a whole, so let’s get that out of the way. i didn’t play with the toys as a kid. i was strictly a TMNT and power rangers kinda guy. not to mention the fact, that i only saw the first transformers a little over two weeks ago. yes, really.
so to any of the true fans out there, pardon the ignorance. my involvement with this franchise is purely superficial, zeroing in on special fx, sci-fi violence and hot women.

i’ll also note that this is the 17th time i’ll be seeing thrice perform.

so sometime before a drug fueled, on-stage breakdown and allowing jerome and i (panda and sun bear) to cameo in their episode of pitchfork’s daytripping (6:24 in), wavves filmed a video for ‘no hope kids’. now i personally think that the british railway psa is far superior to nathan’s european antics, but a video of drugs, alcohol, and shitty haircuts is more up wwm’s alley.

“poet laureates” and “delicate, poetic indie-pop” were a few of the more recent descriptions i came across in regards to one of my favorite bands, the weakerthans, who just released a digital ep on itunes consisting of reconstructed and acoustic songs from their latest release reunion tour as well as their debut album fallow. the band (2/5ths of them anyway) sound absolutely beautiful, singer john samson’s quirky, introspective lyrics layering perfectly over acoustic guitars and a drum machine (one that gives the songs a very dntel feel). the ep definitely captures the band at their most elegant.
i’ve included a couple of my favorite weakerthans songs for download since i’m not linking the ep for free (you pirate, you).

spoon’s sixth studio ep got nuffin, hits stores tomorrow, their first major release since 2007′s marvelous ga ga ga ga ga and hey, wouldn’t you know it, i’ve got a couple tracks for you to get your britt on to. there’s the pulsing, bass heavy ‘got nuffin’ which plays in contrast to the bouncy jangle of ‘stroke their brains’,
but that’s already half the ep.
i’d like to also draw attention to bassist rob pope, whos original band the get up kids will be embarking upon their first national tour since the band’s break-up in 2005. hooray for emo!

don’t adjust or refresh, the video for crocodiles’ ‘summer of hate’ is that static. i can’t even make anything out save for some wayfarers and what looks like bret and jemaine of conchords fame.

ah chairlift. there’s simply no escaping your infectiousness. from apple ads to their first u.s. televised performance on craig ferguson last night, the band’s song ‘bruises’ is still as sweet as ever. but i think the true star of the night are caroline polachek’s eyebrows. i find something new everyday to fixate on with that wonderful woman.

yup. it’s finally happened for the boys of the gaslight anthem: the very muse that inspired their album the ’59 sound, bruce springsteen, joined the boys onstage to perform the titular track. what a coup for the young jersey band who just a year ago were virtually unknows. turns out all you need to summon the boss is rollicking guitars and a self defeating sense of soul. hand me a guitar please…

another suspect post by grizzly. i loved further seems forever’s first two albums with every square cm of my heart. still two of my favorite albums of all time, and both vocalists did a fine job reppin (jason gleason for life, though).
so when i heard that hit the lights did a cover of “snowbirds and townies,” i was a bit worried to say the least. when all was said and done, i ended up loving this cover. it’s a completely different take on it and is definitely just in time for the summer.
you can decide and send hate mail if it sucks, though.
