spin magazine presents: purplish rain (2009)
good dig, if you ask me. spin magazine has definitely earned some points with this one. in honor of purple rain’s 25th anniversary, spin has dedicated their july issue to prince. also if you buy a copy of the magazine, you get a download code forpurplish rain, a cover/tribute compilation put together by the magazine.
as always, wwm strives to achieve your personal convenience. so i’ve managed to save you the trouble of having to buy a copy or going to barnes and noble just to steal the code and found the download link.
i haven’t gotten the chance to listen to it, but the tracklisting (after the jump) looks really good.

Not the best comp. I’ve ever heard, but not bad nonetheless. Riverboat Gamblers version of “Let’s Go Crazy” is the standout track for sure. I was a bit dissapointed with Fol Chen’s version of “The Beautiful Ones” but everything else was listenable. Thanks for the link guys.
yeah, i’m a bit disappointed. i skimmed through it, and i really liked riverboat gamblers, chairlifts, lavender diamond and chairlift’s covers. everything else was meh.
