janelle monae performs a cut off of her 2007 EP metropolis suite I: the chase with the legendary roots band. i’m convinced that the root should be a required backing band for any r+b/soul/pop/hip-hop performer. excited for new material from janelle, especially since i caught such a late pass with the songstress. such an incredible singer.
