stepping away from the angular riffs of “crying lightning”, the monkeys’ latest video for “cornerstone” seems a lighthearted affair, and i mean that literally. alex turner is given a single shot in which to croon the song, rock a ribbed sweater- it is autumn, stand around awkwardly during the guitar solo, and reenact a few choice verses, all the while singing about doing your sister.
