who knew swedish export robyn would be such a fan of jamaican dancehall? well, pretty much everyone outside of the western hemisphere, i can tell you that much, which has yet to embrace ragga. check out the videoke-friendly video for “dancehall queen” from body talk above.

it’s back! and this time, with a holiday theme! proving once again that they are adept at revitalizing dusty old classics, the walkmen once more, swung by the av club studios’ “undercover series” to perform the holiday-themed “holiday road,” an immortal classic by fleetwood mac’s lindsey buckinham, but probably best remembered for those crazy griswolds in the national lampoon’s vacation movies. you can check out the performance at the link below.

vh1 storytellers really does bring out the best in everyone’s performance. i can’t say there’s a single episode of this series where i wasn’t compelled by snippets and previews to watch the whole thing. recent favorites from jay’s american gangster themed episode to kanye’s pink-shirt-bowtie-808s episode have respectively become some of my favorite live performances. when i found out tip would be performing with a live band in tow, my interests were definitely piqued. here we have one of his most hood singles to date getting the classy touches being put all over it.
full episode airs december 10th, a mere 3 days after his record drops.

watching aloe perform is always a treat. below the jump, you can catch an interview he did with the fine folks at okayplayer.

this is old as shit, but i completely missed it. i heard a streaming mp3 (still looking for a download of it) earlier and found it was from this billboard session, which we completely missed back in the early weeks of this month. bruno sounds great on this, though.
edit: finding the download only took me a few minutes. i’m thrifty like that.

don’t judge me, plz. everyone has guilty pleasures, and i can’t say that a few songs on chiodos’ new craig owen-less record don’t fall under that category.
-grizzly
even though this song is terrible, i gotta say that it sounds so much better performed with a live band. and judging by the critical response to MOTM II, i can’t help but feel i’m missing something. my fellow bloggers, family members and friends for the most part hate it, but it’s garnering an average to positive response everywhere else. oh well, fuck it. i still don’t like it.

two new music videos from the t.i. camp today. seeing as how the record hit the web last night, shouldn’t be surprised that there’s gonna be a bunch of this medium of promotion leading up to december 7th. even though the second video (under the jump) is from fuck a mixtape.

never thought i’d see this collaboration. two of canada’s (see: one of the few) finest acts link up together and create a superb cut. there’s no further info on when this will be released or where, but for now, enjoy this visual of a record spinning.

while aj was the chosen one of us three gallivanting about in austin during this festival, the other two bears were off getting drunk in their respective towns. this video recap of the equally glamorous and dirty as shit fest is for all who couldn’t attend it. those of you who did attend it can bask in the chaos.

i guess since nicki had a documentary come out, we got a drake one to pair it up with. from a much music special in canada. this shit is FULL of hyperboles.

i’ve always liked (ok, loved) keri hilson because she kept the whole “innocent slut” stigma about her. however, this is more vulgar than i could’ve imagined. not gonna complain in the least though. do your thing.

ON TIME! i know the cover art is a bit fem in comparison to our typical album art, but it’s a photo by an azn i know from our thanksgiving dinner, and i couldn’t just not use it. that little name tag had my name on it initially — but y’all didn’t need to see all of that.

this is literally one of the greatest things i’ve ever seen in the history of the texans’ franchise. finnegan, being the biggest jersey-shore-lookin bitch in the nfl, pulls some pussy move and manages to get the most calm, anti-shit talking WR in the nfl to hit him three times in the head. and still manages to wink at him.
well-played, ocho-zero. it’s rough that you’ll probably be suspended for a game, though.

i like the original with asher way better. first off, the fact that the two switched off every four bars is what made this song so great. instead, they lumped all of bobby’s bars together and then tacked on a wiz verse at the end. it’s whatevs, though — beat’s still fantastic.
