nfl playoffs [wildcard round] (2011)

now that the regular season is over and my depression for the 2010 texans season is over, we can zero in on the playoffs. first round/wildcard will take place this saturday/sunday. matchups and predictions below the jump.

Prediction: Saints. Even though NO’s rungame is pretty much shot, everything else is looking pretty decent offensively. And considering the Seahawks are going with Hasselbeck, they don’t stand that great of a chance offensively. However, the Saints are definitely riddled with injury, so this game could be a huge upset win for Seattle.

Prediction: Colts. Honestly, NYJ could take this game in all fairness. Their defense is on point and an injured, but active Revis is still pretty good and better than most. Colts are missing key players and Manning hasn’t had the hottest season, but this is the postseason and the man feeds off of it. Also, fuck the Jets and Rex Ryan.

Prediction: Ravens. I just don’t think the Chiefs are experienced enough. Charles is a beast, but how will he fare with the Ravens D-line in the playoffs? Probably not too well. However, the Chiefs do have home-field advantage and that could definitely be huge for them. As my cousin mentioned in a convo with me, this game’s gonna come down to the Ravens’ offense vs. the Chiefs’ defense.

Prediction: Packers. Sadly, I’m rooting and have been for the Eagles this year for obvious reasons, but I think they’re going to crumble under the Packs. Rodgers is on fire, as is the GB defense. This is definitely going to be the best game of the four, in my opinion.
Till next week.
