the office has been a staple in my ‘show repertoire’ for the past 6ish years. even though it’s had it’s fair share of ups and downs, i’ve remained loyal to the show and its ever-changing set of writers through the horrors of many episodes in seasons 4-7. when carrell announced he was leaving and the writers showed no signs of calling it quits, i was immediately taken aback at how stupid of a decision that was. regardless, it’s still sad to see him go, and i’ll continue to watch. for now, catch this cute farewell clip of michael scott saying bye to his fans through the lens of angela’s flipcam.
for the record, i haven’t seen scott’s final episode yet (dvr’d in lieu of the draft and nba playoffs) so i’ll get to watching this later.
edit: hit the jump for my thoughts. kinda spoilerish about the season, but whatever.

that’s right folks. the duo that first officially showed out on slim shady’s debut album are putting together an EP for this summer, and it’s hopefully going to be the best eminem affiliated release since the eminem show. for now, here’s the first single.

this is great news. a little while ago, daniel gleason (formerly of winston audio, currently of death on two wheels) mentioned that he’s working on solo material. today, he dropped his first single, “time,” to looks of huge surprise from this end. while i expected acoustic-guitar or piano driven balladry (hey, it’s just natural), out comes a full-on, atmospheric rock song. the current project he’s embarking on consists of dropping one song every month, until he’s good with an EP or LP’s worth of songs, which will be put out through the great lakes collective.
for now, stream the song over at bandcamp, and if you like it (you probably will), buy it for a buck. keep on the lookout for future single releases.

just saw this on the movmou facebook; wearepostrock threw up this multi-camera video shot from movmou’s recent show in montreal, and it is of excellent quality. waves drops in just about ten days.

i’m curious as to what the plan for this albums is, now that there’s a 128kbps webrip out a whole two and a half months (seriously, it was supposed to come out on july 21st) before the album date. with a single and a music video out, it’s probably in their best interest to push the release date up to sometime in may. i tried to listen to the leak, but that whole bitrate thing got on my nerves real fast, leading me to abort that mission.
if not now, when? is in stores…soon hopefully.

and the lykke clips keep on rolling. here’s another official music video from “wounded rhymes.” quite the endearing one, as one could only hope for ms. li to break out in dance after getting quickly intoxicated at a restaurant on a date with an old man.
-grizzly
well, i expected a strong statement from mr. fiasco with this one, and the video definitely delivers. a powerful visual to accompany a powerful track that says a bunch of shit he probably shouldn’t have. overall, i wish i enjoyed the actual song more, but skylar gray’s hook is both cliched, cheesy and honestly, annoying as hell. lupe’s in true form though, seeing red on every single verse.

so what’s the deal with cons and ye’s camp? make up your mind, people! movies on demand 3 droppin soon, i guess.

ms. li has been sustaining some tour cancellation-worthy injuries as of late – she explains in a blog post:
“I had some kind of complete meltdown on Marks&Spencer in Glasgow on one of those very rare days off while on route….I was standing at an isle contemplating life and death and the struggles of being an artist/soul/woman/human being when the overbearingness sneaked up on me like Batman himself. I fell to the floor and so did the raspberries I had in my hand, the troubled breathing lead to some severe lumbago which ment I couldn’t move and had to lay straight for a few days. In a valium haze I took a flight back to my loved ones where a strong man cracked my holy spine loose and I was soon able to walk again. Little did I know it was my troubled hip joint that was the problem in the first place, so had to go back to a horizontal mode. My body then decided Easter was the perfect time to let a god damn flu blossom out, so I spent the whole easter praying to God to get better, drinking ginger tea while watching Apocalypse Now wishing nothing more then that I could have been on that stage with you.”
…even her explanations sound remarkably lykke li. the woman’s gonna be recovering for a bit, but she was able to knock out this killer performance of “get some” from her album wounded rhymes live on jools holland. nice bun, lady li.

The honorary brown bear, aka Vish B, aka grizzly’s cousin is back for another analytical sports post for all of you. The draft is a pivotal moment every year, so it’ll be interesting to see where some of the big names go. As a Texans fan, I’m hoping for some picks that pan out better than Kareem Jackson. Anyway, I’ll let him take over right here. -Grizzly
Why make a post about the NFL Draft? Why did I do this? I do this shit for Madden. That’s why.
It’s going to be a very interesting set of events that take place beginning Thursday afternoon. With the lockout looming, and currently no player movement (aside from trading draft picks), it’s going to be worth watching to see how things will pan out. This year, is one of the tougher years to predict where people will go, to what teams, and when. It’s a defense-heavy draft, with a slew of players who have the potential to be big time play-makers from their first snaps.
Hit the jump for my predictions of the top 10.
For pick to pick commentary, instant draft analysis, follow me on my twitter during the draft.

it’s no throwback to the band’s album i’m like a virgin, but it hits just as hard. man o have really set the bar for the rest of the album high, as anything i’ve heard thus far has been great. while i’m not a HUGE fan of children’s choirs, i think the one in this particular song bodes fairly well, especially with each listen.

weworemasks homie hollywood floss has been hard at work lately, and his new series of leaks has been deemed stray shots vol. I. each week, he’ll be releasing two songs (one on monday, one on thursday) via thehiphopeffect.com. when it’s all said and done, the songs will be packaged together in a mixtape. an innovative idea yet again.
anyway, i’ve kinda dropped the ball on this venture, so i have the first three songs released thus far zipped up for your downloading pleasure.

in typical blu fashion, an obscure tumblr has surfaced. on it, there’s an individual (and quite difficult to make sense of, honestly) post for each of the supposed songs on the noyork! LP thats pending release sometime this year. check an example:
o1_doin nothin feat u god
it was like being in the studio w a real life leopard baby paw.
so definitely take it for what it’s worth, but don’t hesitate to get excited.

am i wrong in thinking this is about two years late?! after fonz’ stellar and soulful single “everybody” (and the ensuing excellent music video), mr. bentley kinda disappeared from music. aside from catching him perform a couple of songs at the fader fort in 2009, he hasn’t done much. but alas, a mixtape from nowhere. there’s a catch though. while there are 17 songs with some great features to boot, there are only a few songs for free download, and you gotta grab the rest from itunes. i know, i know. but hit the jump for the tracklist.
