“one silver dollar” originally appeared on the 1954 western flick river of no return, sung by a dance hall singer played by marilyn monroe. it’s a breathy acoustic number sung in that breathy monroe-manner. the kills’ alison mosshart takes a stab at such suggestiveness.

naturally, when something is hyped to hell, it’s gonna keep showing up. so when the weeknd finally played his first show in t-dot last weekend, there were plenty of bootleggers on hand. gj from kanyetothe.com was nice enough to make a neat mixtape of the night’s events, complete with a great cover. i’m still holding out from the soundboard recordings, cause the crowd can get a bit obnoxious intermittently.
