video: kid cudi & cage – maniac [directed by shia lebeouf] (2011)

i might’ve shit all over cudi’s last album, but this was one of the few songs that held my attention, so i’m looking forward to this clip. enlisting shia’s directing talents is a good push for the profile of the video. i’ll be honest though – i haven’t watched this yet, but it’s got a few “nsfw” and “violent imagery” warnings attached to it.

the folks at XXL decided to make a video in the name of halloween for what is arguably the best three songs on the carter IV. the saddest thing is that wayne has one out of eight verses here, and his is easily the least good.

count on donald glover to do something original in his music video for “bonfire.” i’m not the most thrilled on this song as a single, especially since it’s following its counterpart “freaks and geeks,” but gambino makes it work for him in the “summer camp thriller.” camp is out november 15th.

with the release of camp approaching quickly, the collective internet’s tension is reaching extreme levels. naturally, this is a good time to release a small photography-based feature at jay-z’s life and times and a freestyle. “twistclip loop” has a little ‘wub’ in beat, but his lyrics are speedy and punchy, as you’d expect.
