hey, it’s 2012. welcome to weworemasks. we’ve been doing this since 2007. jerome (panda) and roshan (grizzly) started this blog during a drunk AIM conversation, eventually would hire aj (sunbear) to cover the music we wouldn’t, and have been truckin’ ever since.
we moved from google to wordpress in 2009, and eventually to wordpress.org, which is the incarnation of weworemasks you’re seeing now. currently, the site is under construction, as we’re doing a rehaul of the entire organizational hierarchy, so if you see something out of order, feel free to contact us and let us know. we want to make weworemasks v. 2.0 as awesome and effortless on your part as possible.
we’re all here to bring something new to your musical reportoire, and while we’re at it – we’ll post relevant news articles about film, television, sports & whatever else we see “blog-worthy.” if you found us on google, we’re glad you’re here and invite you to stick around while we keep this thing moving.
thanks for reading.
peace, love and sideboob,
weworemasks

o’ brother’s 2011 album garden window fell by the wayside, and to be honest – it happens to A LOT of good bands. there’s just a lot of shit to keep up with. that being said, their new video for “lo” is out, and it’s just as gritty as the song. lo-fi filters, dirt and grunge soak it from wall to wall. it’s also awesome that i’ll be seeing these guys twice this week, when they’re opening for thrice.

NPR was on hand at fun.’s headlining set in washington, dc, in order to put up for listening an entire headlining set from the newly famous boys. oh, and those pictures are great. clocking in at well over an hour, this is surely going to waste a lot of time at work…on monday. cheers!

i’ve been sitting on this album for a week now, after one of the fellas from the band got in touch with us. it’s been busy with show reviews, mixes, and show recaps and all that other junk – but here we are. pinegrove are a four-piece from brooklyn, new york who have put together a fine LP in meridian. a sunny, washed-out groovy record it is, with a truly organic rock sound. multiple vocals and harmonies will find fans of local natives and beach house on common grounds.
check it out, it’s free. my personal favorites are “the metronome” and “peeling off the bark.”

tegan and sara launched a pretty cool dvd last year — one that included a lengthy documentary, as well as an intimate and acoustic set from the twin sister tandem. well, if you have a netflix account, it has now been added to the instant stream library, so hop to. if you don’t have an account, you can msg me on myspace and i’ll give you the password there.
my username is grizzballin69.

beach house have added to their slew of summer tour dates in support of their forthcoming album bloom, due out may 15th. hit the jump for all the dates, with fellow dream popper wild nothing supporting the latter half. also give texas some love every once in a while. it’s lonely being so far down south.
