watch: jessie ware + the xx – lady/music sounds better with you [modjo + lady stardust cover]

why these two baby-makin’ bedroomist forces haven’t already joined forces before this night + day festival is absolutely nutters to me. the xx asked jessie ware onstage to layer a powerhouse vocal turn of lady stardust’s “music sounds better with you” to their cover performance of modjo’s “lady.” the whole thing was captured on this pristine fan vid that has the ability to melt the everlovin’ faces off anyone who watches.

watch: kanye west – saturday night live performances

last night, kanye west shut down twitter with his performances on SNL, sending fans running on either ends of the “love/hate” spectrum. i’ll go ahead and say this: i’m loving how aggressive these new songs, and i’m glad he’s branching out (as if he never does), but i hope the social commentary isn’t taking over this album. that being said, both of these performances were phenomenal and memorable, just as you’d expect from kanye west in the visual/performance art aspect. up top, “blk skn head,” a track that samples marilyn manson’s “beautiful people,” and below is “new slaves,” the track he premiered globally last night.

oh yeah, the album’s called yeezus and drops in a month on june 18th. YEEZY SEASON IS UPON US AND EVERYONE IS TUNED IN REGARDLESS.

EDIT: the album artwork for ‘Yeezus’ can be seen below the jump.

watch: kanye west rants, premieres new songs at pop-up show in NYC

last night, in typical kanye west fashion, NYC attendees of the adult swim upfronts were treated to a 90 minute kanye west set. and that set held everything we hold dear about sir yeezy: new material, a fuckin’ glowing pyramid, and a classic kanye rant. watch the “i’m not a fucking celebrity” rant. unfortunately: i snoozed, so you all lose. the videos of the performances have been taken down.

edit: found one of “awesome.” spoiler: it’s not that awesome. watch below.

read about the rant here.
