fang island announce sophomore album major (2012)

prepare those high fives, folks: posi-prog rockers fang island have announced the follow up to their self-titled debut album: major is set to be released on july 24th via our friends in sargent house.

fang island’s press release for major describes the album’s sound as “evermore confident, triumphant and brimming with infectious enthusiasm. its warm harmonies are given proper berth with more expansive dynamics and focused song craft.” well howdy do, fang islanders! check out the major teaser video above.

record release show: black market syndicate – and the peasants rejoiced (2012)

on april 21st houston, tx’s very own golden age of punk revivalists the black market syndicate are set to release their johnny rioux (street dogs) produced sophomore album and the peasants rejoiced onto the world with a record release show at fitzgerald’s. joining them will be american heist, dead to the world, and skeleton dick. the album will be available for purchase through the band’s website, as well as all major online retailers.

kid cudi joins twitter, provides many updates (2011)

that’s right tweeters. the wizard of rap is back on twitter to share all of his musings. in his first 24 hours on the social network, the “rapper” has thrown out a handful of tidbits:

- his new album is coming out this summer. he calls it the “wizard” album and says it’s all rock, no rap. he produced and played guitar a lot of it too. (note: rebirth anyone?)
- he’s releasing a ‘film’ for maniac. the length is yet to be determined, but he’s aiming to release it later this year. this could be good.
- he’s been wearing the same jeans for months, and it feels good. BREAKING NEWS.
- new mixtape this summer – a man named scott. hopefully it’s good. it’s probably not.
- how to make it in america’s second season starts shooting in march. i kinda liked that show. sounds good to me.
- he’s gonna tour with chip tha ripper and cage.
