i haven’t watched this yet because i’m at work but i can only imagine it sounding like brian fallon sitting there playing his acoustic guitar, being the greatest musician and vocalist alive. my guess is, i’m probably right.

the gaslight anthem enlist the aid of loved ones’ dave hause to star as the guy dealt a stale hand in the receiving end of a divorce in their new video for “bring it on” off last year’s american slang.
after a quick european tour, gaslight singer brian fallon will ready his horrible crowes side project for an album release, aiming for september for their debut. keep an ear to the ground for that one.

the gentleman of the gaslight anthem dropped by dave’s program once again for a performance from american slang this past friday evening. i don’t remember exactly where that album ended up on my end of year list, but i guarantee it should have been higher.

To sum up the music of The Gaslight Anthem in one word: earnest. From their grassroots beginnings in New Brunswick, NJ with a heavy influence of Bruce Springsteen (the one and only time i’ll mention it, i swear) to a national touring act that can headline Warehouse Live’s 1500 capacity ballroom, the boys of The Gaslight Anthem have kept their “awww shucks” demeanor no matter the amount of success obtained. These guys are as blue-collar as they come, but sure bring out the big guns in support of their latest release American Slang.

the gaslight anthem release a video for the title track off of american slang, which i’ve been spinning constantly throughout the past few weeks of summer heat. i’m assuming the same guy who did the videos for the ‘making of’ series for american slang directed this video, because it’s definitely similar and equally awesome. the album’s in stores now.
