yes, somehow epic meal time made their way into antwan’s newest video for “apple of

big boi and phantogram got big-stage access, as they performed “cpu” to the kimmel crowd. i guess i haven’t really noticed, but big boi doesn’t exactly have “a single” for this album – he’s been performing whatever the f he wants – and that’s pretty cool.

right in time for the weekend, big boi lets rap radar premiere his remix to frank ocean and andre 3000′s channel orange collaboration, bringing outkast together on wax for the first time in a long time. i believe the last one was lookin’ for ya, correct? either way, enjoy!

big boi stops by letterman to perform “apple of my eye,” complete with a raging-horn section, plenty of background singers and a full band to boot. great performance, but not greater than the news that big boi has mentioned that outkast will be reuniting on wax on remixes for the following songs:
+ t.i.’s “sorry”
+ frank ocean’s “pink matter”
bask in that. the reasoning behind them being remixes was that andre didn’t want any form of an outkast song on an official LP release. go figure.

how excellent is this song’s lineup? three ATL legends getting together on a track and dropping a video on new years day to kick 2013 off proper. vicious lies and dangerous rumors has also been in constant rotation since it dropped, so hop to that.

this track is one of my favorites of the year, and while footage of this has surfaced in the past, this is the official video by way of the record label. the collab features all of the credited artists, so that\’s pretty call.

the original version of ‘mama told me’ was premiered at one of those vitamin water/fader events, initially enlisting little dragon for all the background vox and hook duties. one thing lead to another and kelly rowland ended up on the album due to whatever circumstances. but let’s move past that, as big boi hit the fallon stage with little dragon to perform it how it was intended.
and of course, what better times than to grab the original too, right? vicious lies…is out tuesday and it is fuckin’ excellent.

let’s get this out of the way: kid cudi has been very inconsistent since he released man on the moon. however, i’d go as far as saying 100% of his guest features have been relatively on point, ESPECIALLY all of the hook work he’s done. and “she hates me” is no exception. he provides a real groovy backbone to this new single from big boi’s vicious lies, out dec. 11.
