listen: big k.r.i.t. – mt. olympus

after hitting 500k, big k.r.i.t. thought it would be a cool idea to drop off a song. standard day at the common rapper’s office, right? wrong. k.r.i.t., as late as he is, finally responds to kendrick lamar’s “control,” and it’s pretty seething. “mt. olympus” is a pretty uh — appropriate title.

now let me listen to this 100 more times and then hop back into “week of k.r.i.t.”

listen: big boi – gossipzilla [feat. ugk, big k.r.i.t. and blue oyster cult]

“gossipzilla” is the third (whoa, hold up — i’ve missed two of these already? not surprised) of nine total remixes/mash-ups planned for big boi’s vicious lies release. this one takes the VL bonus track “gossip” and mashes it up with blue oyster cult’s “godzilla.”

listen to the others below:

big boi – CPU 2.0 (feat. phantogram/sade)
big boi – thom yarbrough (feat. yarborough and peoples)

listen: gary clark jr. – blak and blu [big k.r.i.t. remix]

GC JR’s next release will be a remix album – reworking tracks from his 2012 album, blak and blu. the first drop is the album’s title track, with 100% more big k.r.i.t., which should delight many.

so…can we scrap the rest of the guests and have k.r.i.t. do the whole album?

watch: big k.r.i.t. talks new album, cadillactica

what a great title, huh? after announcing the new album via twitter, krit talked to BET about the album, and admitted that his time for production has since dwindled, and that he may be taking on other beats from producers. i’m not sure how i feel about that, as k.r.i.t. is easily one of the top 5 current producers in hip-hop (for me, anyway.) we’ll see though.
