does KRIT never NOT impress you? i’ve seen like 20 of these backroom freestyles, and krit’s 1:30 in the booth has already shot its way to the top of it.

today is a great day, because we’re getting a new release from big k.r.i.t. and if you know the guy, you know that his “mixtape” releases are better than most rappers’ albums, so it’s damn near criminal that you’re getting dude’s shit for free. now that i’ve talked up this release without hearing it, here’s to hoping i don’t have to eat my words.
but let’s be honest, that probably won’t happen.

it’s so good to see these two on a track (again). so krit’s currently planning to release a new project by name of king remembered in time, of which “shine on” is the leadoff hitter. great timing too, considering krit’s “reign on” is currently ruling your crown royal commercials. and hey, uncle bun does his thing too.

great to see uncle bun and big k.r.i.t. link up to bring some “country shit” to jordan’s XX8 campaign on a new track, “check the sign.” download the collaboration and celebrate all-star weekend awwwwready.

big k.r.i.t. steps off from the production board, but in this case, it’s not a bad thing at all. good ol’ 9th wonder picks up the slack and KRIT shines through on “reign on,” a vintage southern-tinged throwback to the 90s. and hearing KRIT over this sounds so sweet.

what a lineup, huh? joey badass links up with the king from MS and smoke dza in this collaboration track for an ecko unlimited tape of the same name. definitely looking forward to throwing this gem on my ipod.

as k.r.i.t. prepares his name sake EP, a king remembered in time, we get a beautifully produced number in “gettin’ mine,” assisted by the fine female talents of the north carolina emcee rapsody and heather victoria.
and that’s 9th wonder behind the boards.

big k.r.i.t.’s live from the underground boasted a very reflective and vulnerable track in “rich dad, poor dad,” which krit had no problem putting on display in this new music video. a flipbook style of visuals of his hometown and among other things, a cameo from his old man help make this one pretty memorable.

lecrae’s latest album, gravity, fared pretty well critically, although i didn’t take to it like i did his mixtape, church clothes. “mayday,” however, employs big k.r.i.t., and that’s enough to keep most on board. watch his video above, directed by those talented folks at motion family.

the folks at the smoking section and dj wally sparks are dropping a mixtape, the spksmen vol. I, very soon, and this here collab is one of the biggest draws. houston’s slim thug joins the king from mississippi on some good ol soulful production you’re used to hearing krit on these days.

one of the best songs from the stoned immaculate reunites the ‘glasshouse’ trio for “jet life.” currensy won’t fail you when it comes to classic cars, weed smoke and in this video’s case – scenery.
so — when do we get a full collaborative album from these guys? and where the fuck is live in concert?!
-grizzly

holy fuck. first off, FY, dj khaled. mainly for taking the headlining spot on this liner credit. you didn’t do the beat or anything besides ‘ad-libs’ (per usual), but you still managed to get a very sought out collaboration from 3 of hip-hop’s most exciting emcees. listen/download below.
khaled’s kiss the ring is out on tuesday.
