Our third and final road trip concert in a month’s time was a special one. None of us three bears had seen Bloc Party prior to this show, so a trip to Dallas to retrieve our forgotten writer Jerome to see ‘em at the House of Blues was a must. The band’s currently on their full US tour routing in support of 2012′s Four, a grungy, but beautiful affair, and the band’s first since 2008′s Intimacy and their hiatus, which took place soon after.
We were pretty excited about this one, especially considering it’s the last big show of 2012. Why not go all out and make a trip to Dallas, only to return back to Houston at 3:30 a.m., right? YOLO, as they say.
[Note: It's been a while since we've seen a show as fans first, and due to a lack of press, none of us took photos. Apologies to the folks who had their photos ripped from Instagram. Hopefully the credit isn't too bad!]

the riffy “kettling” from bloc party’s four is the next in line to get a music video. and in it, we get plenty of civic unrest at a boarding school somewhere london, with plenty of kids gettin’ their riot on.
and for even better news: barring any accidents, fires, deaths, etc., weworemasks will be in dallas catching their set on december 11th. come say hi.

four is quite guitar heavy, but i’m welcoming my favorite brits back with open arms. yes, in the creed way. the band’s first album in four years, after a hiatus, a kele solo project, some forcefed drama and festival tours. four is the band’s — yep — fourth album, and hits retail a week from today. a bit abrasive of an album, considering the last one was packed to the brim with electro beats and mish mash, but the band came to rock. listen to the album via their own site, where they have an interactive listen set up.

dudes, RAC does work. the original only came out less than 48 hours ago, and the remix artist collective have already dropped an EXCELLENT remix of the track. BP’s four is pretty much the most anticipated record of the year for me. till then, i will play the hell out of this remix.
