looks like we’ve got some movement out of blu’s camp. well, kind of. blu will be dropping his recently released jesus project on CD and vinyl on august 30th, under the name “B” (legal reasons). up first is the CDQ of “lucky”.

naturally, blu drops a random lo-fi album out of nowhere titled jesus. i’m not mad at all though, as the project features production from madlib, 9th wonder, the alchemist and himself. very, very excited for this. it’s free, but you know, blu’s gotta eat – buy it if you love it.

in typical blu fashion, an obscure tumblr has surfaced. on it, there’s an individual (and quite difficult to make sense of, honestly) post for each of the supposed songs on the noyork! LP thats pending release sometime this year. check an example:

it was like being in the studio w a real life leopard baby paw.
so definitely take it for what it’s worth, but don’t hesitate to get excited.

this is probably the most you’ll ever find out about or from blu in one sitting. in the explanation, blu talks about noyork and why the title is what it is and the significance to the title. pretty great stuff, and the video’s not too bad either. noyork is dropping sometime this year…apparently.
below the jump, you can find the tracklisting and artwork for the official release of her favorite colour. the album is being remastered (thank god) and seeing a digital release on april 19th.

first off, props to hardknocktv for getting straight answers out of blu. if it wasn’t them, then props to blu for staying sober? i kid i kid. but seriously, according to this clip, no york!, a mixtape and an EP are in the works, due to the large amount of output the studio sessions have given blu. no problems with that here.
he talks about the album and some of the features, with cameos from bilal, sa-ra and j-davey, as well as production credits from exile, madlib and fly lo. this is sounding like it’s gonna be an incredible album, to say the least. oh, and he mentioned there is a new blu & exile album coming out afterwards, but i wouldn’t hold my breath.

so before blu decides drop (see: scrap, forget about, get high instead of recording) noyork!, he’s going to be giving the fans a 7-song EP on february 15th, which according to him is “just in time for valentines day.” i’ve expressed my frustration with this incredibly aloof and nonchalant emcee before, so let me just say that february 15th is the day after valentines day, my man. anyway, here’s the tracklisting…so funny.

blu’s been working on a new record with exile (is it too early to call AOTY?) and performed a new song in portland, live band in tow. this just makes me upset that he was too lazy or high on DMT to bring his band to boston, but whatevs. also, as an added bonus, throwing up a new song that dropped today.

nearly forgot about this video until i saw this video. one of blu’s most experimental ventures gets as weird throughout the course of this music video. i’m still with it, though. this is gonna be on noyork, whatever that is.
