noel gallagher set asides past blur fueds (he wished damon albarn would “get AIDS and die”) and joined the band onstage at his teenage cancer trust benefit concert at london’s royal albert hall to perform 13′s lead single “tender.” commence with the peacemaking and the sing-a-longs with the video above.
damon albarn may be all over the place with the current state of blur and the gorillaz, but at least with the former britpop band, he’s released a studio video for “under the westway,” which was debuted last week. check it out above.
“under the westway” and “the puritan” are out now on itunes.
damon albarn and graham coxon premiered a new blur (that’s right, blur) song last night at the war child charity. it’ll be the band’s first new song since their reunion in 2009. just listen to those girls clamor over that new material.
Thrice has pretty much been my favorite band of the last 10 years. Considering I’ve seen them 19 times (soon to be 20) since 2001, I wouldn’t say that’s too far off. Don’t worry, I’m not as biased for Thrice as I am for you know who. Hit the jump for the review.
Oh and there’s two more coming this week.
here’s another, fantastic song from thrice’s upcoming major/minor record, which they premiered via fuelTV’s the daily habit. note to fuel: get better a/v equipment. this looks like it was shot via a pretty nice webcam.
new thrice? don’t mind if i do! at a recent show this past saturday in santa ana, thrice premiered a trio of new songs aside from “anthology.” cannot wait to hear the studio recordings, considering the quality of these. major/minor is in stores on september 20th.
two more videos below the jump.
the get up kids’ jim suptic takes the reins for their a.v. club undercover rendition of blur’s “girls and boys.” green screens and track jackets they might not have, but man are the kids packing some enthusiasm. watch the session below.
