the second video chairlift have released for their song of longing “met before,” this version takes the low-tech approach as all instrumentation is done away with save for patrick wimberly’s rumbly bass, ringing throughout an empty auditorium. caroline polachek and a bevy of backup singers post up in the adjacent hallway adding their layered harmonies making the song sound as full as the album version. check it out above.

“sidewalk safari” is the latest single from chairlift’s upcoming sophomore album something, and it’s something of a wonky electro slush-pot of sounds hardly contained by caroline polachek’s familiar voice. pretty far removed from the ipod friendly sounds of “bruises” i’d say.

ah chairlift. there’s simply no escaping your infectiousness. from apple ads to their first u.s. televised performance on craig ferguson last night, the band’s song ‘bruises’ is still as sweet as ever. but i think the true star of the night are caroline polachek’s eyebrows. i find something new everyday to fixate on with that wonderful woman.
