interesting/unexpected track, to say the least. mickey factz lets loose a letter to charles hamilton via a track produced by sonic himself. interesting to hear the history of their friendship and it’s great to hear he has so many well respected supporters in the hip-hop community. come back chuck!
this is a pretty good song, but i can’t help but think charles’ career is already over. not to mention, he just got arrested for beating up a cop not too long ago. this is off an upcoming project entitled staff development, so look out for it, or something.
from here on out, i’m referring to charles hamilton’s genre as “sad bastard rap.” this guy needs some serious cheering up. and for a beat as happy-go-lucky as this, the lyrics are fairly dark. it’s off his upcoming record, my heart, which will somehow drop on a friday the 13th or something sad like that.
this was announced a loooong time ago and now it’s finally here. for those of you wondering about the order of this cypher-minded remix, it goes:
asher roth, charles hamilton, lupe fiasco, the cool kids, blu, diggy, dosage and b.o.b. i guess wale and j.cole didn’t make it? they were easily 2 of my top 3 most anticipated, but i’ll take a new blu verse when i can.
no one really care’s what anyone else has to say about chuck hamilton anymore (which is probably a good thing), so let’s just focus on the fact that this video actually happened and most “emcees” getting limelight these days couldn’t freestyle for 3 minutes if their life depended on it. just watch 95% of the freestyles any blog posts…
subtext: ‘the album for interscope executives to understand.’ this guy is completely batshit crazy. not particularly an insult upon his recent psychiatric escapades, just the mere fact that he has full albums ready to go for a specific purpose. i don’t even…the guy who liberated this said that it was shelved due to the last 2 songs.
not sure about when or why this song was recorded, but here’s a cut chuck recorded and named after everyone’s favorite dumpster creature. sounds like an eminem circa slim shady LP flow right here. end’s hilarious.
umm…you read that correctly. chuck just dropped off SIX unreleased/old/maybe new/untitled/work in progress mixtapes for everyone to enjoy. i remember emphasizing just about a year ago how this guy personified the importance of quality over quantity, but i guess it makes no difference.
well, i have no idea what he’s talking about, but charles continues his well isn’t this awkward series with a 4am mixtape drop. i haven’t gotten a chance to listen yet, but supposedly the intro explains everything. will reserve judgment.
here’s part III of the long ass interview. i’ve had my fair share of hate for this guy, but it’s good to see him acting completely sensible and respectable lately. part I and II can be seen here.
pretty interesting clips here. charles recently sat down with digiwaxx and ms. drama for a listening session/q&a session in which a range of issues are discussed. everything from the falling out with interscope and hamilton’s self-imposed hiatus, to his signature sound and it’s progression. the track they play at the end of the second video sounds like a complete banger. can’t wait till that shit drops. part 2 of the video is under the cut.
rather than a lengthy title post explaining the new mp3′s and videos, i figured that would do.
mr. hamilton has a lot going on as of late, most of which i’ve spaced on posting about. he’s started a new series in which he’s dropping a new mp3 every week, leading up to the release of his first official single of his upcoming album. the first cut in the series was paperboy with bobby ray, the 2nd and 3rd tracks can be found below. also in new audio, a new track with an interesting back story, which i’ve included after the jump. one of the best tracks i’ve heard from him in a long while.
up above is an interview and lengthy freestyle from this past monday’s show with b.o.b. love him or hate him, the kid can actually freestyle. also after the cut, check out a lengthy interview with honey tv in which charles discusses what he’s been up to, his music, and his future.
posted the above footage yesterday, and now we have the first track of a few from charles hamilton and bobby ray. there isn’t anything here that isn’t on point for me. both cats put it down on their verses (bobby ray in particular blew the shit up), and the hook is ill. not what i was expecting from them, this is on some straight trunk music. can’t wait to hear what else the duo have to offer.
