the sistahs quin, new hairdos and leathered-out, stopped by the late show with david letterman to play their chipper new synth-heavy single “closer” from their jan 29th-due album heartthrob. the pair sound fantastic and it’s always fun to watch dave juggle the twins’ names when he does the post-performance handshake. watch the clip above.
t&s’ new single is pretty left field considering the duo’s past. catchy? you betcha. but it’s definitely odd, and not what you’re expecting. it premiered last week, but let the lyric video teach you the words.
while the twinsies’ new record doesn’t hit retail until january 2013, they thought it would be a good idea to premiere a single f’n 3.5 months early to build anticipation. after the excellent sainthood, i’m looking forward to whatever these ladies have on deck for us. a few more electronics than i hope for, but still vintage T+S in the vocal department.

deep rooted is a soul/hip-hop collective out of san diego, CA. even though i’m just now hearing about em, they’ve been a group in some form or another since 2004. since then, they’ve released their first eponymous album this past year on clear label records. the band’s soul purpose was to blend their favorite styles and eras of hip-hop while maintaining a ‘feel-good’ element to all their songs.
