pretty good cover story on the cudder, and it includes most of his recent label woes, as he heads into the album cycle for his upcoming (and delayed) LP, indicud.

You only had one song on Cruel Summer. Were you disappointed?

I was a little disappointed. But Kanye had a vision for that. Whatever that vision was didn’t include much of me. [Laughs.] I was bummed because I could’ve contributed. I’m a good asset. But he had a different vision. Everyone that was showcased on the album did their thing and they needed that at that time. The energy was on some hip-hop shit. I was on WZRD, doing my rock shit. But I’m not tripping.

news: g.o.o.d. music – complex magazine cover story + cruel summer delayed (2012)

in a bevy of g.o.o.d. music news, but not so much “good news,” the crew has announced that their album has been pushed back from august 7th to september 4th. technically, september 4th is still the summer, so unless they’re pushing it back to the end of september or october, we are in no need of a cruel fall.

also on the docket is the g.o.o.d. music complex cover feature, which was a solid read. in the article, 2chainz clarifies his position with the label, and you get the chance to get a roundtable type discussion from label members.

you gotta love that fun. is getting a lot of coverage on complex mag. seems like these guys will really bust through the mainstream. and that glee bit couldn’t have hurt, either.

so exactly one year ago, kid cudi went off in complex about wale, claiming an obscene amount of things that ended up in backlash, disrespect and disregard. in this year’s complex cover story, kid cudi keeps it level-headed, talking about all of the things he’s done for himself in the past year, whether it be quitting weed or starting what promises to be a terrible rock band.

bad news first: fun.’s new album will not be coming out this year, and that’s really sad.
good news second: fun. is working with jeff bhasker (yes, the guy who works with kanye west constantly) and is hitting the road with janelle monae for a quick college tour. dates here.
