listen: arcade fire – heart of glass (blondie cover; live)

so the two of us happened to catch arcafe fire’s “homecoming” show last night at the woodlands pavilion, and they closed out their initial set (pre-encore, ya know) with a one-two punch of regine’s “sprawl II” and this neat cover of blondie’s “heart of glass.” thanks to some fans, we can get a glimpse of it all.

go catch the reflektor tour.

listen: sir sly – marvin’s room [drake cover]

i recently heard of this LA trio after hearing their single “gold” and deciding i’d keep tabs on em. sure enough, they get me back to listening again with a cover of drizzy’s “marvin’s room.” be on the look out for more from the band, who are working on their debut. in the mean time, go find the gold EP.

watch: banks – what you need [the weeknd cover]

banks made a bit of a name for herself after opening up for the weeknd’s latest US tour. after spending some time with him on the road, what better way to commemorate the occasion than by covering “what you need” for BBC1′s zane lowe?

watch above and hope for a quality audio version.

watch: allen stone – kiss from a rose [seal cover]

god damn, allen stone just destroyed this cover. already quite the talent, he tackles seal’s only important hit, the stone cold classic, “kiss from a rose.”

this is no joke – i spent an entire day jammin’ this song after i heard it in an episode of it’s always sunny, so this is more than welcome around my parts.
