hell, fire and f’n brimstone. the niceguys previewed this at their james kelley listening party, but the full, 5+ minute clip has been unveiled today. “magick” is the latest in james kelley’s single collection (following “overtoast” and the “ari gold” pair), and danny ocean does a good ol’ job of keeping the imagery of such sorcery alive. plenty of bonfires, hat tricks and shots of our beautiful city to go around folks. great work per usual from danny ocean/evesborough films.
p.s. i’m still not letting go of the fact that they said this was their “illuminati” song. sucks for you, todd.
looks like things are moving forward for my friends and one of houston’s brightest up and comers. not only did red bull do a neat little piece on the group, but they’ve also elected to premiere their brand new video for the single “overtoast.” danny ocean is a fuckin’ wiz behind the camera, if you haven’t noticed. anyway, the track is from james kelley, the group’s pending summer 2012 album. while the album has no immediate release date, it’s coming sooner than later. and if you haven’t copped the song yet, stream/buy it below.
danny ocean has developed quite the director reputation round these parts. after being one of the masterminds behind evesborough productions and shooting videos for the likes of the niceguys, mantis, thurogood, montana, etc, he’s finally getting some love in the heart of the city.
danny ocean of evesborough films and nick greer/the mantis crew link up for another music video from the dreamer ep. this time, the title track (despite being a notch above 2 minutes) gets a visual that will knock you on your ass and take you back to the glory days of wrestling. what i’d give to see a “hardcore” match like the original tables, ladders and chairs match with the dudley boys, hardy boys and edge & christian. did i just bring back some awesome memories or what?!
mantis’ dreamers EP can be purchased on iTunes now. support that houston ish, yall.
awww yes. the hometown crew and our buddies just dropped their second music video for the best song on the green room EP, ‘not at all.’ music video’s a smooth visual as always, provided by danny ocean and his team. the niceguys keep it simple and teach you the basics of the average rap video while managing to bring a MASSIVE song to life. if there’s justice in the hip-hop game, this song will reach a lot of people.
a few weeks ago, the group re-mastered it for the single version, so be sure to grab that below.
lupe sits down with the OKP crew, namely danny ocean, to discuss the upcoming lasers project, fashion and of course, manages to whine about leaks in part I of this interview. now, you may not recognize the name, but danny ocean is a local, often working in close quarters with wwm favorites the niceguys, so big ups to him for getting the opportunities to work with a much more national outlet.
