Happy New Year, readers! Hopefully we continue to bring you the same great sports news we did for much of 2012 in a better way in 2013. This week saw a bunch of Bowl Games burn off the schedule, and the NFL playoff race is just getting started as we head towards the divisional round. Hockey fans can sleep at night too – lockout is over!

After an amazing Wild Card Weekend, we were able to find out about a few teams, while scratching our heads over others. The Houston Texans won their first ever playoff game in their first ever playoff appearance, using the loud Reliant Stadium to frustrate the Bengals. The Falcons failed to score an offensive point in New York as the Giants dominated them in every aspect of the game. The Saints offense just seemed to be too much even for a hot Lions team – Drew Brees is on some type of mission. All three of those games were relatively blowouts, while the Steelers and Broncos provided us with a great playoff game. A game that may define a legacy (Tim Tebow). Tebow was under heavy watch before the game, but set a Bronco-record for passing yards. A great feat, but faced a very depleted Steelers team. This Steelers team managed their injuries very poorly at the end of the season, which may have cost them a chance to go deep in the playoffs this season.
