ruff ryders – world’s greatest (2011)

growing up, ruff ryders were one of my favorite crews. between DMX, the lox and swizzy’s beats, this crew had their shit on lock. now, they’ve releasing a compilation through itunes, and here’s the first single. such a throwback.

swizz beatz – ya’ll don’t really know [f. dmx and busta rhymes] (2010)

WOW. this is some classic shit right here. not in the “this is the most amazing song ever” type way, but more of the “is it 1998 with swizzy and dark man x reuniting on wax” or “wow dmx kicked off a song with barking” type way. none of which are anything to complain about. WHERE MAH DOGS AT?

it’s dark and houston’s hot today, so what better way to spend the next 43 watching earl simmons and his share of rises and falls from grace. this guy’s career has some of the most polarizing ups and downs in comparison to nearly every rapper i’ve ever listened to. coming from a guy who was a huge dmx fan in middle school (i seriously bought …and then there was x without hesitation), i’m really looking forward to seeing this episode.
