stream: meek mill – lay up [remix; feat. jay-z] (2012)

same as the original, just throw in a verse from HOVA and call it a remix. jay’s verse was initially cut from the record in lieu of wale because jay didn’t like his own shit. and although the verse isn’t BAD per se, i’m not shocked it was cut.

dreams and nightmares is out now.

stream: meek mill – dreams & nightmares intro (2012)

all this time, i’ve been on the fence about meek. a casual listener at best, i’d consider myself. this new LP he has coming out in a little under a week now is the “make or break,” both for him in my personal collection and him on the mainstream front. he’s put out a few big singles in “burn” and “amen” but he’s had great help from guests on the track. well that notion dies on “intro,” where meek more than holds his own over the minimal piano production as the leadoff track from his upcoming LP.

stream: meek mill – maybach curtains [feat. rick ross, nas and john legend] (2012)

in the veins of his boss’ label and maybach music 1-4 tracks comes “maybach curtains,” a high powered collaboration with plenty of big names and lush production to go around the entire label. and we’re all better for it, as the horns do a good number behind john legend’s soulful hook and a nasty (sorry) verse from nas.

album drops october 30th.
