video: big sean – dance (ass) [f. nicki minaj] (2011)

[vodpod id=Video.15634601&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

i’m not big on nicki’s verse. it’s a little too vulgar for my tastes and i was never big on khia or trina, but alas, here goes a pretty whimsical and colorful video for a song that’s gonna put big sean into the club market in no time flat. i can’t lie though – this song is fun as hell and saying “ass ass ass ass” is probably one of the more gratifying hooks of 2011.

really great interview with the crew of power 105 from NYC, where sean discusses his album, the pusha t diss from consequence, the game diss of himself and others, and of course – his new supergroup.

album review: big sean – finally famous (2011)

As some of you know, we’ve been fans of Sean for quite some time now. We posted the first mixtape way back when and now, three years later, his debut LP is dropping. When it came down to it, I felt nearly obligated and a little motivated to write a review (Also, I realized I haven’t done one since March. Whoops!) for this record.

Consider it jumping back on the writing wagon. Review after the jump, boi.

not EXACTLY a record release show, but more of an NYC celebration for his whole album. while sean’s not the best technically sound performer, his energy is definitely worth noting, along with his new album, which drops this coming tuesday. stream the entire 1+ hour show above.

stream: big sean – finally famous (2011)

yeah, so this leaked and that’s the obvious reason we’re at the ‘full album’ stream two weeks early. like always, i appreciate sean for not going all lupe on us and crying about the leak. on the contary, he was quite the champ about the entire situation. all the more reason to go out and buy the album in about 10 days.

video: big sean – i do it (2011)

[vodpod id=Video.10992069&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

apologizing right now for the slew of big sean material you’ll be seeing in the next few weeks until finally famous drops. the official music video (unofficially sponsored by TI$A i’d guess from all that product placement!) for “i do it” just dropped and one thing is for sure: this song loses a lot of its luster after being edited.

big sean – marvin gaye & chardonnay [f. kanye west and roscoe dash] (2011)

easily one of the more anticipated tracks from the liner notes of big sean’s debut album, the internet is now in possession of the classy, 2011 version of waka flocka’s “no hands.” this isn’t a lyrically impressive effort, but i’m gonna listen to the hell out of this shit.

big sean – so much more (2011)

this song’s title is on point. for most people, sean’s biggest songs are those of bravado and tales of money, weed and sex. while none of those topics are overlooked here, this song proves to be quite the showcase for the actual emcee aspect of big sean, EASILY making it his best finally famous leak yet. if this is the caliber of rhyme we can expect from his debut, then i’m happy. oh and i’m sure you recognize that third verse.

video: big sean announces a new mixtape (2011)

[vodpod id=Video.10409966&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

looks like big sean’s droppin a mixtape on june 27th, a day before finally famous hits. the idea came up after he had to cut a few songs from the album due to feature and sample clearances. he did confirm that no i.d. produced the bulk of the debut, with features from lupe, kanye and wiz khalifa. looks good from here, boi.
