flylo keeps the good times rollin, doesn’t he? i’m too lazy to sum this up, so from his site:
Lots of people ask me about Thundercat, and how I come to know this guy. Thing is you’ve been hearing him for years and probably didn’t even know it. He’s one of the most talented bass players I’ve ever witnessed and I’ve been blessed to have worked with this guy on ‘Cosmogramma’ and ‘Pattern+Grid World’. Since then Thunder has been like a brother to me and feels like the other half of my brain in the studio. I thought it would be good to get you familiar with the man who’s contributed his unique sound to so many records I love. Here’s some things, a prelude to the LP. Some new, some you might know, some we may never release.

so, we haven’t heard from the ed banger camp in a while, right? i mean, aside from that really disappointing uffie album. anyway, the label’s put together a new mixtape entitled ‘let the children techno,’ which features this sweet new bit from the flylo camp. some kind of awesome has the stream, so head over and take a listen. the myspace site for ed banger has the mixtape stream too.

nearly forgot about this video until i saw this video. one of blu’s most experimental ventures gets as weird throughout the course of this music video. i’m still with it, though. this is gonna be on noyork, whatever that is.

new visuals from flying lotus from the pattern + grid world ep, “kill your coworkers” features a parade of cubed-out robots stabbing, maiming, otherwise mutilating the innocent human bystanders, who are also cubey. a perfect fit for the 8-bit music.

well, well. i’m sure the large majority will never see flying lotus go ‘mad beat scientist’ on us in a live setting, so here’s a 21 minute clip of his performance at the sonar festival in barcelona, spain. he joined the festivities of BBC radio personality mary ann hobbs’ stage and knocked em out of the park.

flylo’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2008′s los angeles can now be streamed in all of its glory over at his home base on the breeding grounds of myspace. the music is almost as entrancing at the artwork. must to have a poster, plz. cosmogramma is out may 4th.

LA’s out of this galaxy beatmaker/producer and wwm favorite flying lotus has announced his upcoming album, cosmogramma, which is set to drop on warp records may 4th. the album features collaborations with thom yorke, erykah badu, and outkast string arranger miguel atwood-ferguson, among others. with the recent direction fly lo has been taking and judging by the cover art/tracklisting, something tells me this is gonna be some out there shit. get ready for takeoff.
