j. cole stops in on that hot 9-7 (yesterday) to sit down with flex and drop a handful of freestyled verses over different beats of flex’s choosing, including: wu tang’s “…ain’t nothing to fuck with,” capone and noreaga’s “bloody money,” and ll cool j’s “i’ll bomb.”
thanks youtube comments. hit the jump for the other videos – born sinner is out today.
one of the only great things about having an XXL freshman list is this particular feature here. each artists gets a verse-worth of air time to spit a verse, and usually they’re pretty good. check out q’s above.
while stopping by the flex studios, child of the west coast decides to freestyle over two fantastic east coast instrumentals. up top, he spits something nice over prodigy’s “keep it thoro” and handles (seriously, handles) “nas is like” below the jump.
edit: just added a third clip – “wu tang ain’t nothin’ to fuck with,” and neither is kendrick lamar.
asap rocky enlists a three-pronged DJ attack on letterman during his performance of “wild for the night.” dj clark kent, a-trak and araabmuzik all join forces for a mind melter of a mini dj set, packed into 2 minutes of a “wild for the night” performance. to kick things off, asap sat atop a throne and performed a verse from his new album’s namesake for good measure.
hit the jump to see asap freestyling to “clique,” as well.
a little late on posting this, my apologies. hash is back at it again, with a brand new freestyle from his catalog. taking on saigon’s track of the same name (produced by the gr8 just blaze), hash shines some light back on his pending release, rap mayor II: landslide. stay tuned in the coming days for the first original single from the release as well.
