stream: q-tip officially announces his signing to g.o.o.d. music (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16357932&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

if hip-hop free agency was real, then g.o.o.d. music is like the 2007 boston celtics, the ____ ny yankees, the current denver broncos, etc etc. in the past couple years, they’ve scooped up pusha t (and eventually the clipse), mos def and common, not to mention they still have john legend, common, and all the young dudes. what’s this roster coming to? happy for q-tip, can’t wait for the official follow up to the renaissance, which was his best album.

kanye west announces a g.o.o.d. music album (2011)

mr. west reemerged yesterday to send a very boldfaced tweet out to the masses. a g.o.o.d. music album, which i’m sure will rival 2009′s we are young money release. and let’s face it, while the format of the latter album was on point, the artistry on YM just doesn’t match up. it’ll be interesting to see what comes out of studio sessions with common, john legend, pusha t, big sean, kid cudi, mos def, mr. hudson and cyhi.

oh and don’t expect this before september 2012.

video: g.o.o.d. music x SXSW takeover (2011)

[vodpod id=Video.12899343&w=425&h=350&fv=]

well, even though vevo were nice enough to put up these incredible quality clips of the mega-event from this past year’s sxsw, i gotta say i’m a little disappointed in the QUANTITY of the output. three kanye songs, a mos def song, a pusha t verse, a kid cudi a capella and a live clip of “h.a.m.” is all we get? i know they’re hoarding more, and i want to see it all, plz.

album review: big sean – finally famous (2011)

As some of you know, we’ve been fans of Sean for quite some time now. We posted the first mixtape way back when and now, three years later, his debut LP is dropping. When it came down to it, I felt nearly obligated and a little motivated to write a review (Also, I realized I haven’t done one since March. Whoops!) for this record.

Consider it jumping back on the writing wagon. Review after the jump, boi.
