australian singer/songwriter gotye had his latest video leak yesterday, so as an embrace, he’s released it early via vimeo. he’s also linked to a soundcloud stream of the track from his upcoming album, making mirrors. the video, based on his father’s original artwork, combines body painting and stop-time animation with interesting results. making mirrors drops july 11th.

gotye aka wally de backer is back with a follow up to his 2006 work of brilliance like drawing blood. his first single, eyes wide open, features a field recording of an instrument instillation called the winton musical fence that he came upon while on tour. the so far untitled album is set to drop in early 2011. throw this one on during a late night drive and enjoy the magic.
