weird, but conan o brien’s team coco site is premiering the visual for manchester orchestra’s “the ocean,” taken from their all-acoustic, all-feels edition of their last LP, HOPE. not much to see as far as the video’s concerned, but there is a sooth factor in play here.
manchester orchestra stops in with tenement TV to perform two “HOPE” renditions of “COPE” tracks – with the album opener and closer “top notch” and “cope,” respectively. it’s gooooood.
instead of a music video, manchester orchestra decided to showcase “top notch” in the truest of forms: a live video. professionally shot and edited, but highlighting the raw energy of their show. watched it twice.
also, their album HOPE (acoustic version of COPE) is out now.
fuck. manchester orchestra have surprised their fanbase with an all-acoustic affair. COPE came out earlier this year, and as fantastic as it was, they knew we needed more. hence, an acoustic version.
the band is also going on tour. listen to “girl harbor, hit the jump for the dates, or if you’re a spotify user – enjoy the album in full.
chance’s younger sibling’s come up is going to be a tough one. considering the year(s) chance has been having lately, it’ll be hard to emerge from that shadow, but as long as he’s putting out this caliber of music, he’ll be ok. his new project, mainstream music, is on the way and will drop may 4th. for now, listen to “hope.”
