madlib – doom vs. jadakiss (2012)

21 02 2012

first a few verses from doom. then a screeching left turn into jadakiss territory before an 80′s commercial jingle plays us out. such is the way of madlib’s “doom vs. jadakiss,” a track from the latest installment of madlib medicine show. check it out below.

video: wale – 600 benz [f. rick ross and jadakiss] (2011)

13 06 2011

that self-made compilation was fairly tough, and wale really showed out on this one. i don’t know much about cars, but i’ve seen benz ‘enthusiasts’ pass word around that the car in the video isn’t even a 600, which is true rick ross hilarity in its finest hour. *rick ross grunt*

wale – 600 benz [f. rick ross and jadakiss] (2011)

6 04 2011

don’t get me wrong, i love the concept of ‘maybach music.’ we all need that pop element to hip-hop when we’re out drinking or bullshittin’ with friends and family. but i never thought wale’s dabbling with waka flocka’s ‘no hands’ would effectively flip the script on his entire career and lead him to making music like this. and can someone get the maybach music group a tailor? these suits look awful.

i mean the dude made a mixtape centered around the concept of seinfeld interludes and skits. how’d we end up here at “600 benz?” reel big fish will help me articulate my opinion.

rick ross – maybach music III [f. t.i., jadakiss and erykah badu] (2010)

6 07 2010

just because it isn’t as big as part II, which isn’t even nearly as big as part I, doesn’t mean the third installment of the maybach music series doesn’t deliver. we get great verses from the likes of tip, rawse and kiss and a brand new, re-worked hook from ms. badu. sprinkle that over justice league production, and you’ve got yourself a movie.

album review: jadakiss – the last kiss (april 7, 2009)

6 04 2009

it’s been a good minute since i’ve done an album review. i’ve been doing a bunch of other non-music related shit for school lately cause there haven’t been albums i’ve been wanting to review. aka i’ve been too lazy.

anyway, this is kiss’ third album, and last in the trilogy of albums that will contain the word ‘kiss’ in it. go figure. hit the jump for the review.

coming soon:

a. young love – one of us (plus an interview with dan keyes VERY soon.)
b. kevin devine – brother’s blood…maybe.
c. manchester orchestra – mean everything to nothing
d. rick ross – deeper than rap
e. suggestions?

jadakiss – kiss my ass/child abuse (2009)

18 03 2009

jada is easily the best member of the lox, both within the group itself and solo. these tracks are both prime examples of this. both are no-dj versions of songs off of his february mixtape, kiss my ass. pick that up here (direct link — right click, save as) if you haven’t already.

the last kiss will probably be a great album.

jadakiss on myspace.
