hova has been in the news a lot as of late – whether it be his becoming an agent for pro sports players, selling his nets shares, going on vacation, and plenty more. so what does jay do to take heed to all the talk? drop a somewhat scathing track, produced by swizz beatz and collaborated on with timbaland.

this year’s made in america lineup boasts a hearty mix of everything we like here at WWM:
jay-z, fuckin’ beyonce, nine inch nails, gaslight anthem, all of TDE, asap rocky, haim, calvin harris, solange, 2 chainz, mackleymores and a shit ton more. all of it was announced via a spotify playlist.
in other jay news, he’s selling off his brooklyn nets shares so he could become an NBA agent.

last year’s made in america festival was a success and as if we didn’t already know, a 2nd annual festival was announced. the trailer above flashes the dates aug 31-sept 1 and puts together a nice montage of last year’s act.
on to the business side of things, jay’s roc nation signed a deal with universal. universal now takes roc nation “under its umbrella” and allows it to operate as its own label. more on that here.

as far as business-minded (good) rappers go, there’s no one who will ever compare to shawn carter. over the past decade, he’s gone to do huge ventures with conglomerates – whether it be signing a deal to livenation, owning a stake in the new jersey nets or you know – signing kanye west. now you can add another to the list, because new york yankee robinson cano has fired his agent and signed none other than the jiggaman himself.

that guru preview gave most people a great idea of how this remix was going to go, and now here it is in all of its CDQ glory. and that cover.

rave reviews all around. justin did quite the job as host for SNL and made sure to include a few noteworthy performances of his two latest singles. oh and he even manages to diss kanye in the process. after kanye didn’t “fuck with suit and tie,” justin adlibs a lyric to say “hits so good, got rappers actin’ dramatic” or some shit like that. good on ya, bud. “mirrors” below the jump.
oh and he brought out jay-z.

when rumors of this tour broke out, i couldn’t even shake the fact that there’s no way this tour wouldn’t hit houston. sure enough, it not only passes over houston, but texas altogether. i mean there isn’t a single date within driving distance, so fuck this tour. (sadface) – dates below the jump.

we’ve heard jay decode plenty, so it’s nice to get a producer’s (and a really great one, at that) take on one of the best tracks on the black album.

for starters: only JT would get a JT commercial to play before his ad-sponsored youtube video.
after a very stylish and quite possibly the best lyric video in existence, justin timberlake had to follow up with an equally impressive music video, and well – getting david fincher to direct your GD music video is a start. the noir piece follows JT’s performance of the track, intertwined with shots of him in the studio and dance moves throughout. and jay-z shows up for his cameo and bosses up, as everyone fully expected.

while off in NOLA for the superbowl festivities, justin timberlake headlined the direcTV party, where he brought out jay-z for the first performance of “suit and tie.” he was backed by a full band (“the tennessee boys”) and performed a pretty excellent set all around. more importantly, he debuted a couple of other new songs (“little pusher love girl,” “bad girl”) in the process. all in all, we’re ready for the 20/20 experience.

not the wordiest announcement, but life+times has announced that timbaland is the newest addition to roc nation.
with a justin timberlake album coming soon, this is just more income into tha god of business men’s pocket. HOV!

i don’t usually like lyric videos all that much, but timberlake went all the way turnt up for this one. follow JT around as he gets dressed to the 9s, gets an edge up and does other things that the menswear section of tumblr would love.
more importantly, for a SPLIT second, the screen flashes “MARCH 19!” as the release date for the 20/20 experience. we’re gonna have a good 2013, folks.

this sure is a consolation to the texans slaughter i had to sit through tonight. for the first time in over half a decade, we’re hearing new music from justin timberlake. “suit and tie” will show up on his new album – the 20/20 experience, which is due out later this year. i’ll just say: the “game” needed this shit. r&b has been taken care of, especially in the past couple of years, but justin timberlake chimes in to reclaim his throne that dabbles in pop as well. the jay-z feature is a nice touch as well.
JT has also announced most of this in a letter, if you wanna check that out.
