video: everyone is on the #kobesystem (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.15933104&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

who doesn’t like viral videos for one of the GOATs of the NBA? 5 rings is real shit, and the likes of yeezy, jerry rice, landon donovan, aziz ansari, paul rodriguez, richard bronson and a few others weigh in on how badass the #kobesystem can make one.

video: jimmy kimmel’s commercial for kanye west’s new company (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.15918349&w=425&h=350&fv=]

so the other night, kanye west completely went off on his twitter account. he discussed wanting to start DONDA, the company to end all companies, and sure enough – jimmy kimmel shot his first infomercial. pretty good, i just wish he used some of the overzealous tweets from the rant.

show recap: watch the throne (december 5, 2011)

Fair warning: This review will hardly be objective. It’s hard not to bask in the glow of two of my favorite emcees of all time. And all of you know the pedestal Yeezy gets around these bear parts. But in all seriousness, this was a historic tour. A mentor and a mentee, both of whom collaborated on a huge record and have worked together plenty of times in the past, were touring together. Nevermind the fact that the tickets were costly and the tours grossed around $1 million a night – this was the Karate Kid of hip-hop tours. And you know how badass Karate Kid is.

Review after the jump.

kanye west announces a g.o.o.d. music album (2011)

mr. west reemerged yesterday to send a very boldfaced tweet out to the masses. a g.o.o.d. music album, which i’m sure will rival 2009′s we are young money release. and let’s face it, while the format of the latter album was on point, the artistry on YM just doesn’t match up. it’ll be interesting to see what comes out of studio sessions with common, john legend, pusha t, big sean, kid cudi, mos def, mr. hudson and cyhi.

oh and don’t expect this before september 2012.

show recap: austin city limits [day one] (september 16, 2011)

Austin City Limits is far and above the biggest festival in an 800 mile radius, and it’s safe to say that both Sunbear and I have both avoided it for whatever reason we could muster up. Namely – the price. Turns out, this year’s 3-day passes were bought on Sunbear’s behalf on a whim, and mine due to the mere announcement that Kanye West would be headlining one of the dates. So we braved the heat and weathered the small storms to gather with the 75,000 people (on average, per day) at Zilker Park.

For Day One’s recap, I’ll be assisting Sunbear with the write-up, and he’ll be taking charge of Days Two and Three, coming soon. Recap after the jump.
