listen: solange knowles – looks good with trouble [feat. kendrick lamar]

big news in the solange camp. she’s on the cover of complex (seen above) and that feature can be read here. more importantly, dev hynes produced her new single, “looks good with trouble,” which also finds a home for an excellent kendrick verse. the song originally appeared in a shortened form on the true EP, but has now been expanded to its full potential. buy it on itunes.

watch: kendrick lamar – bitch, don’t kill my vibe

first off, i love that this is a single – and that needs to be said. anyway, king kendrick heads to a funeral dressed in all white to contradict the very song you’re listening to’s main thematic element, but it matters not. omar epps and juicy j both show up in a video that had a nice budget, some beats by dre product placement and plenty of hijinks that turn that frown upside down.

listen: bridget kelly – street dreamin’ [feat. kendrick lamar]

my biggest fear of kendrick lamar’s career is having him spread himself too thin across too many features. and even with that in mind, it’s still good to hear him on different genres, such as this here track from roc nation’s bridget kells.

but at some point, you gotta get a little more picky.

no release date yet, but it’ll be out this summer.

watch: miguel – how many drinks? [feat. kendrick lamar]

miguel’s coolness flies past

most. donned in his best mark mcnairy, surrounded by performance ready spotlights and LEDs, he carries this remix’s stylish and contemporary video throughout. that is, until king kendrick comes through and commands through his verse.

listen to the track on soundcloud here.
