lupe sends us back to the vibes of 2006 with this “new” video for “it just might be okay,” from food & liquor. and of course, its sentiments run strong in the wake of this mess we currently have in baltimore.
it’s weird living in a time where lupe fiasco just released a good album. it’s been a long time since i’ve felt that after a release – 2007’s the cool – to be exact. watch two excellent performances of “the adoration of the magi” and “deliver” (below the jump).
lu’s “deliver” reminds me of “gotta eat.” while the video and song itself take on the lyrics’ literal meanings, it’s definitely about something much bigger than that – bringing light to the perils of the rougher parts of the chi.
it’s #FBF for lupe fiasco, apparently. for his latest outing, he takes us back to the days of the cool, brings nikki jean on “haile selassie.” that not enough? no other than longtime collaborator soundtrakk behind the boards for this gem.
his new tape, lost in the atlantic ocean, is coming soon.
lupe will forego the release of tetsuo and youth (which is now slated for a january 2015 release) with a mixtape, lost in the atlantic ocean. this one is assumed to be taken from the latter release, which will drop sometime in november (i’m guessing).
