great news, MDAM fans of houston. the band will be heading out on tour in support of their very good 2012 release, everything you ever loved, and will stopping by our lovely fitzgeralds in the routing. looking forward to throwing back a few beers and having a grand ol’ time here.
make do and mend had a pretty good year – at least in my collection. everything you ever loved ended up in my top ten and got plenty of airplay ’round these parts. so it was nice to get a touch of new music in the form of an EYEL b-side in “3/4.” listen above.
make do and mend is one of my surprise bands of the year. their album, everything you ever loved, is quite high on my year-end lists (which you’ll see next week) and “disassemble” is a neat, loud ass single.
looks like into it. over it./evan weiss has announced that for the first time, he[‘s gonna be doing a full tour with a full band. along for the ride will be my new favorites in make do and mend, owen and hostage calm. watch the mini documentary above.
The Warped Tour is the longest running touring music festival in the world. And in it’s 18th season, they’re sticking to the formula that brought ‘em this far. 2012 seemed to be the year that many bands of years’ past had come back to the table to bring a day of rock and roll, skateboarding and outfits parents probably wouldn’t approve of. Veteran acts like New Found Glory and Taking Back Sunday set out to share the stage with newer, younger bands like Breathe Carolina and We The Kings to cover a larger demographic than expected. The tour’s Houston stop came on July 1, moving back to Reliant Park for the first time in six years.

my bearded friend josh has hounded me about these guys in the past, and like all friends of mine – he was ignored. i care not for the recommendations of my inferior peers. because FY, that’s why.
but seriously, spinner posted an exclusive stream from this connecticut four piece and i must say he was right. it’s gritty rock and roll in all the right places, with just a tad bit of melodrama and beautiful soaring guitar tones that make for the best air guitars. the band will be performing on warped tour this year, so barring a conflict, i plan on catching a few songs. their record, everything you ever loved, is out on june 19th via rise records, and will be produced by matt bayles!
