for the new video for “under cover of darkness” from the upcoming angles (march 22), the boys of the strokes trade their faded denim and iconic chuck taylors for bow ties and lapels. everyone but ol’ julian, who’s still stuck in his ol’ ways, trashing posh smoking rooms and doing that mic-stand javelin move we’re so fond of. check it out above.

new music from the four tet camp – bbc radio released a new track “pinnacles” unto all, a 7-minute ambient jam that is reportedly from an upcoming 7″ split with caribou’s dan snaith, newly christened daphni.

there was a good 13 seconds of “oh my god it’s finally happened” of the new the pains of being pure at heart track “belong” when the introductory guitars are just a little too sweet. but then the band kicked into teenage fanclub territory and everything was right in the world.
check out the new song, which is the title track to tpobpah’s second album, due out march 29.

2010, come back to me so i can indulge in this overlooked gem of an album. spain’s crystal fighters share a french label with bloc party, hot chip and the whitest boy alive and play a carefree kind of, and i don’t use this word often, folktronica. check out their sweet and springlike video for “at home,” off their debut star of love above.

performing “conversation 16″ from their fantastic album high violet, the national brought with them arcade fire’s richard reed perry on 3rd guitar too add to their melodious melancholia. i love the line “i was afraid i’d eat your brains” a concern i’m sure everyone can sympathize with.

matthew vasquez of middle brother fame has a full time project called the delta spirit apparently. joke. the san diegans (or is it san diego-ites?) brought their song “white table” from their album history from below to jimmy kimmel live. the track ticks gently at first, then mushrooms into a percussive a-bomb. watch them explode all over the jimmy kimmel: live stage up above.
