video: b.o.b. – no where near close (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16434060&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

strange clouds leaks, and a new single (featuring nicki minaj) and this video all drop in the same day. makes sense, right? at least he avoided a big leak, and now we only have under 5 days until the release date. nice one, bobby.

stream: sene – brooklynknight + music video (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16429812&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

sene flies relatively under the radar for me. while i always listen to a new song release or watch a new clip like the title track for his latest album above, i never get around to his full LPs. his distro company, plug research, has been kind enough to throw up a full album stream, so be sure to get on that after you watch the clip.

video: the niceguys – overtoast (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16367909&w=425&h=350&fv=]

looks like things are moving forward for my friends and one of houston’s brightest up and comers. not only did red bull do a neat little piece on the group, but they’ve also elected to premiere their brand new video for the single “overtoast.” danny ocean is a fuckin’ wiz behind the camera, if you haven’t noticed. anyway, the track is from james kelley, the group’s pending summer 2012 album. while the album has no immediate release date, it’s coming sooner than later. and if you haven’t copped the song yet, stream/buy it below.

clear soul forces – detroit revolutions [name your price] (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.15998171&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

first off, this isn’t exactly new, but thanks to a reader, josh gomez, it’s new to us. clear soul forces is a group out of d-town who’ve won me over with their video for “gets no better.” after a little research, i’d come to find that the boom-bap embracing track is on an album, detroit revolutions, which is available for download for the cost of $name your price. be sure to check these guys out.

video: j. cole – the sideline story (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16354054&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

my favorite song from cole world, personally. very glad to see a video and proper shine for it as a “single,” despite how flat the video falls. let’s face it: this was never really a good single, so it’s only a half complaint.

COH WORLD!

video: cursive – this house alive (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16348373&w=425&h=350&fv=videoId%3D1555221532001%26amp%3BplayerID%3D744308467001%26amp%3BplayerKey%3DAQ%7E%7E%2CAAAAAGnAPYI%7E%2C-oy14sQPgSgDSVUnowJMQV1L78ZzbRoe%26amp%3Bdomain%3Dembed%26amp%3BdynamicStreaming%3Dtrue]

cursive drops a video to the lead-off track from their newly released record, i am gemini. juries (mine, anyway) on the record, because i’ve yet to listen to it all the way through, but i’ll work on that, while you work on watching this clip.

video: drake – take care [f. rihanna] (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16333293&w=425&h=350&fv=]

sunbear compared this video to a calvin klein commercial, and it is exactly that amount of sexy – sans drake. his corny dancing and overacting has gone far enough, video directors. quit enabling him! in other news, the rest of the video looks crisp and fantastic, and blonde rihanna’s got my rocks goin in a “loud album cover” type of way.

[vodpod id=Video.16298503&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

this catchy number from hoodie allen’s new project all american is his personal favorite single/video to date. even more importantly, hoodie’s upcoming project will feature no samples on the production frontier, and the all-original album will be dropping here in a couple weeks on april 10th. buy the single below.

video: wale – sabotage [f. lloyd] (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16251651&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

lloyd has been on a hot streak lately. his lessons in love record was borderline dogshit, but ever since “dedication to my ex,” i’ve enjoyed his output. on this one, he provides a fine hook to wale’s “sabotage” in the newest ambition music video.
