introducing: gorilla warfare tactics (2011)

i was hit up (and fluffed with kind words and flattering – folks, this works!) with this NYC local that happened to catch my eye. not the greatest name for a group, but GWT’s first tune, “temptation” really brings the fury. GWT is a trio out of the nether regions of NYU and want to do their best at making music influenced by both old school hip-hop and the newer leanings of the likes of j. cole and jay electronica. also worth mentioning, is that their emcee sounds a lot like common, which can’t possibly be a bad thing.

these guys are working on new material, and have a mixtape coming out next month, and an EP soon after.

like these guys on facebook.

video: kanye west – live at the bowery ballroom (2010)

[vodpod id=Video.4980972&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

well, for the 550 lucky folks in nyc, the bowery ballroom show was one for the ages. smallest venue ever to house the names from his entire label, justin vernon, diddy, swizz beatz, nicki minaj, rawse, donald glover, questlove, aziz ansari, and probably A SHIT TON of other people on twitter who i didn’t happen to catch cool bragging about this shit.

anyway, rest of the videos after the cut. i know he performed the whole record, but i’d like footage of that as well. the best video is a 9 minute rant, which’ll be the first clip, followed by the rest of the performances.
