i definitely haven’t been as present as i would like to have been towards the last quarter of 2010, but that doesn’t mean i wasn’t around. i definitely have to give the biggest panda thank you ever to grizzly for holding down the fort as always. after the cut you’ll find my lists for albums of the year, mixtapes of the year, and some random ramblings towards the end. you know what to do.

first of all, i’d like to formally apologize for waiting till 2010 to post my end of 2009 list.
moving along…anyone complaining that there isn’t good music anymore isn’t looking hard enough…or at all. 2009 was a year full of so much good music that it was damn near impossible to listen to even a small chunk of it.
i compiled my lists a little different than the others (aka lazier). like last year, mine is a little less organized. after the cut, you’ll find the lists for my top albums/mixtapes/ep’s, etc…along with top songs and top music related moments (shows, videos, moments, whatever i want, etc). my lists should in no way be looked at as what i consider to be the “best” music of 2009, rather what i consider my favorite music of ’09. and so it goes…

official video for one of my favorite jawns off man on the moon. drake and consequence are in the video and apparently (according the the notes at the beginning) josh hartnett directed it? ah well. i just want to go ahead and wish jerome/panda/sexiest mexican i’ve ever met a late happy birthday (on the blog, of course) and dedicate this video to him and the rest of the weworemasks familia for poppin’ dallas texas off this past weekend.
this video, strangely enough, parallels this past weekend. however, there are a few discrepancies between this video and our actual weekend. there were equal amounts of collars and ties, but way less female titties and way more of ours. there was way less champagne and way more shots. the rest is exactly the same. EXACTLY.

that’s right, folks. happy (belated) birthday to us. two years ago, jerome and i kick started this blog out of sheer boredom of just being drunk and not being able to rant in a celebratory fashion about kanye west on the internet as freely as we wanted to. so on october 3, 2007, we dropped the first post. reading back, i can’t help but think of how awesome we still are.
from the days of yester-blogger, it’s not hard to remember the shoutbox and the lack of people who actually gave a shit about this blog outside of coming to steal the albums we had posted. it’s not hard to remember all of our incoming hits coming from blogsearch.google.com, either. in any case, let’s take a look back at this incredible year at the bear kingdom of weworemasks.

i’m bored and we don’t have enough myspace friends. and a guy who knows a guy that has connects with someone that told him told me that myspace is the new cool way to make friends. so make sure you’ve added us. make sure your band/manager/sister/brother/mom/dad/cat has added us.
we’ve also been brainstorming for new features. we always welcome feedback on that tip. is there anything you think we’re missing out on? should be tweetering (aka online text messaging) with the rest of you assholes? is there some other cool website/device/feature/sexual position that we don’t know about? let us know family. and by the way, we love that you guys have been commenting more. it makes us feel warm and fuzzy.
