the positives is definitely an album i didn’t give enough listens, but i clearly remember how much i loved “goodness gracious,” so it goes without saying that i’m happy to see this raunchy, gritty song come to life in video form. the party in the video hits home, as this is how the bears like to party. except with way less pants and way more liquor.

person l – untitled (2009)

after not being as impressed with their debut release as hoped, i’m still finding myself geared up for the release of the positives, which drops november 17th. spin.com ran a feature in which they gave away this lead single off the album, along with a nice interview with the band. i wouldn’t have minded a hook on this one, but i get what they’re going for and i’m into it. not to mention kenny’s voice sounds absolutely stellar.

show recap: bbq across america tour [ace enders] in houston, tx (7-15-09)

last night was ace ender’s BBQ across america tour. i had the opportunity to interview ace, so i decided to hit up a show that i’d normally never go to for the sole reason that it was at javajazz. for those of you who aren’t from texas, java jazz is a locally christian owned venue in the suburbs of houston. not only is the clientele VERY young, but there is a huge lack of bar involved. now that i’m 23 and jaded, i need that bar around these days.

anyway, ace brought person l (kenny vasoli/drive thru records alumni), the gay blades, the dangerous summer and school boy humor.

hit the jump for the full show recap, and don’t forget to peep the interview with ace enders.
