i’m no fan of this song at all. however, despite using sasha gray (who no one take seriously as a legit actress right? i mean, she’s done some messed up shit on film), slim managed to make a great music video.
recovery’s in stores now.

i’m not sure what it is about the albums, but eminem’s been killing these off shoots from his record. this song reunites dr. dre and eminem again (relapse seriously doesn’t fuckin’ count) and shows that old school animosity from em and that ghostwritten street shit from eminem on dr. dre’s behalf. the hook is piss-poor, though.
the internet thinks this is on the re-release of recovery and/or detox.

sans the incredibly risky sample, this is one of the few great songs on recovery, so i’m especially happy to see that it’s the next single; especially considering that the previous singles might be one of the worst songs i’ve ever heard. the video’s pretty much what you expect, except that the jaden smith look-alike gets his redemption on the bullies instead of taking the high road.

eminem’s rendition of b.o.b.’s airplanes gets the video treatment. the best thing only good thing about this video is the cameo by charlie from lost and that floozy from the transformers franchise.
edit: just finished actually watching this video, and it’s pretty horrible. i can’t even begin to describe how much rihanna annoys me. just terrible.

a neat look behind one of the cooler album covers this year. em also briefs about the concept and what not.

b.o.b. made a tiny appearance tonight, but was quickly upstage by slim shady, who’s obviously having a massive week. keyshia cole kinda took it a bit overkill, definitely feel like hayley should’ve done her thing in this case.

i feel like i’ve seen one too many status updates about how “classic” people believe eminem’s recovery is, and i felt the need to say something. i definitely grew up listening to eminem – especially in middle school. i maintain that his first three studio LPs are among some of the finest releases in hip-hop altogether. with the huge misstep that was relapse, it was easy for any record to succeed and be lauded by many, especially those who felt like relapse left something to desire. while i do feel that recovery is miles better than its predecessor, i still feel like there’s much more that people are looking past, which i hope i shed more light on in my review.
you know where it is.

eminem’s PR team is pullin out the stops for recovery. another overall silly clip of eminem actin’ a fool. mainly posting this cause i’m all about joel mchale right now, because i just caught up with community – definitely looking forward to the second season of that noise.

these are both ridiculously awesome. up top, vince gets his emwow on. down below, he brings out biodome’s PAULY SHORE for some more jokes about the accents and what not. good call.

and the recovery hype train continues to pick up steam. at this stop, we have the visuals to the lead single off the album. definitely a very strong video. i was a little surprised at the little twist at the end, but it made sense with em being such a huge comic book fan, so no hate here.

wow. this should smash everyone’s question about how correct marshall will be coming on recovery.

artwork dropped sometime last week, but i was waiting for the tracklist to throw up the post. very few features on here. kobe’s done some great hooks for clipse and loso, but pink and rihanna? really? suspect. now, where the hell are the producer credits? alternate artwork under the cut (both look great).
really hoping this one isn’t terrible.

so here we have it, the first single from eminem’s upcoming recovery. pretty damn interesting, to say the least. the high melodies completely caught me off guard upon first listen. i can’t hate on the man for writing something positive, and of course, it’s good to know that he didn’t like relapse or his stupid ass accent either. overall, it’s a huge step up from a lot of his recent material, and it IS a lead single without bouncy pop hooks or celebrity bashing, so i’m good. boi-1da on the production, killed it.
