it really doesn’t get any more cryptic than the golden filter. their two singles (“thunderbird,” “solid gold”) have had me hooked over the course of the past year and a half. aside from a handful of remixes, they’ve remained virtually elusive and inactive.
that all changed, finally. their debut record, voluspa, will be released on april 26th. up top is the album art and if you head to the band’s official website, you can hear a clip of their new joint “hide me,” accompanied by some fucked-up visuals in typical fashion. let’s get excited.

we’ve posted about the golden filter a few times before, but after sitting here for the past 45 minutes and listening to a bunch of remixes from this elusive hipster entity known as the golden filter, i’ve come to the conclusion that i’m in love. from the dark synth to the incredibly seductive vocals. very much so along the lines of glass candy, but much, much more refined and enjoyable.
anyway, if you haven’t gotten into em’ already, i was bored enough to gather up all the remixes i have from them and put them into a nice zip file. i’ve also included two of their own songs.

man this video and song are so good. this group’s gonna blow up this year. i’m hoping to catch one of their sets at sxsw, but chances of me seeing what i actually want to see are slim to none, haha.
this is their first single, and my interest in them was peaked a while back with their remix of the PBJ track, lay it down, and also their remix of cut copy’s far away.
