a bright blue suited, platinum blonde patrick stump (seriously, homie – what’s going on here?) hits the leno stage to perform his latest single. and while the remixed lupe version would’ve made for good tv, it’s pretty awesome seeing that tiny matt rubano with a bass guitar and a keytar around his neck at the same time.
this is a real pleasant surprise, isn’t it? stump’s getting ready to release soul punk, but first is his homage to chicago with none other than lupe fiasco.
patrick stump – my city f. lupe fiasco
mr. stump drops off a new track from his upcoming solo album soul punk (still not the biggest fan of that title). while i’d like to see him embrace his r&b/soul influences more musically (the tempo of this track seems unnecessarily fast), i’m definitely digging the michael jackson turned up to 20 in the verses and the 5 second breakdown.
