video: common – raw [how you like it] (2012)
how good is it to have this version of common back? and as opposed to “sweet,” this air-horn backed track should’ve been shot in haiti instead, for purely aesthetics.

while i went ahead and bought this album from target, i was too lazy to upload the bonus tracks, therefore got beat. thankfully, the chicago blog fakeshoredrive is always on top of shit. so i’m gonna cut my work in half, use their pictures and steal their links. come at me bro.
oh and if you’re wondering about the remixes:
“the believer” – new beat and stuffs.
“ghetto dreams” – a third common verse, sans nas. and it’s still as good.

this song is so great. the hook is one of the most uplifting shits i’ve heard all year, and i’m gonna play the hell out of this over the next few years. can’t wait to pick up the dreamer, the believer tomorrow.

two more of these things. more of common’s soothing talking voice.

so let’s recap: every song released from common’s new record has been good (pun intended) to excellent. stream only for this one. album drops in less than a week, folks.

soooo 4/4. common is on a streak here, folks. and as far as streaks go, no i.d. is on one as well. and this song’s title indicates exactly what you want to do upon hearing this sweet jam. it’s that feel good.

while the “pay per view” aspect of the video only lasted under 24 hours, common’s released his video for the ridiculously good “sweet.”

after releasing three fantastic songs, common hits 106 and park to talk about the dreamer, the believer, which has a new date: december 20th. i’m guessing i’ll have to listen to it a shit ton for it to make my year end list, right?

i wish i was joking, but this song just propelled the anticipation for the dreamer, the believer to AOTY status. aside from UMC, common is one of the most consistent emcees, and “sweet” finds him reverting back to the days of “the bitch in yoo” and completely goin’ off on rappers that he deems ‘soft.’
can’t wait for the CDQ. no i.d. destroyed this beat. flex tags for now.

this album is going to be incredible. lets just hope it drops this year. he has two fantastic singles in “ghetto dreams” and now “blue sky,” both of which have produced equally fantastic visuals.

in light of common’s new single blowin’ up the webs, the posi-uplifter gets a lyric video that’s so popular these days so all of you can follow along.

i’m still rockin’ with this song like it’s still the best song to come out all summer. common (with a rick ross beard) and nas link up for a historic moment here, putting visuals to “ghetto dreams.” if i was these two fellas, i’d write the sequel to “watch the throne.” the formula is one monster rapper from NYC and one from chicago, right?
the dreamer, the believer is in stores in november.
