stream: warren g – party we will throw now! [f. game and nate dogg] (2012)

i’m as confused as you. west coast’s finest, including a posthumous appearance by nate dogg, link up on this excellent, sweet ass track from the original regulator. if you can stomach the dj skee drops, listen at his site. otherwise, wait till the CDQ drops, cause we all know dj skee is an asshole of a dj.

mixtape: the game – california republic [NO DJ] (2012)

and just as soon as it got announced, the game’s brand new mixtape drops. with skee’s name attached to it, i can pretty much guarantee i won’t download this until the “no dj” surfaces. hit the jump for the tracklisting and see ya when it’s a no DJ!

WELL THAT WAS QUICK!

video: the game – the city [f. kendrick lamar] (2012)

[vodpod id=Video.16261327&w=425&h=350&fv=bgcolor%3D%23000000%26amp%3BallowFullScreen%3Dtrue%26amp%3Bsrc%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fvideoplayer.vevo.com%2Fembed%2FEmbedded%3FvideoId%3DUSUV71200415%26amp%3Bplaylist%3Dfalse%26amp%3Bautoplay%3D0%26amp%3BplayerId%3D62FF0A5C-0D9E-4AC1-AF04-1D9E97EE3961%26amp%3BplayerType%3Dembedded%26amp%3Benv%3D0%26amp%3BcultureName%3Den-US%26amp%3BcultureIsRTL%3DFalse%26amp%3Ballowfullscreen%3Dtrue%26amp%3B]

while this is easily the best song to come from the r.e.d. album era, there’s a really sad element to it: kendrick lamar lays this shit out cold.

KENDRICK IS REALLY GOOD, YOU GUYS.

the game – martians vs. goblins [f. tyler the creator and lil wayne] + good girl gone bad [f. drake] (2011)

so i’m sure these were two of the most sought out for features from game’s upcoming album. i gotta say, i hate seeing these established emcees hop on tyler’s nuts and cater their songs to sound “dark” and shit. martians vs. goblins is a throwaway outside of wayne saying “bitch i’m a muthafuckin martian,” as it’s game doing his best tyler impression, and tyler doing his best tyler impression. good girl gone bad’s got a soul sample – which is a good start, as it culminates in excellent verses from both camps.

also – game, STOP TALKIN SHIT ABOUT THE BASED GOD.

mixtape: the game – hood morning: candy coronas [NO DJ] (2011)

besides the immensely stupid fucking mixtape title, we have a bunch of (presumed) r.e.d. album leftovers from the bipolar west coast emcee. hit the jump for the tracklisting, which is full of features and what i’m assuming is a bunch of weak songs. say what you will about the game, but he makes great albums but pretty terrible mixtapes.

EDIT: NO DJ.

the game – drug test [f. dr. dre and snoop dogg] (2011)

and just like that, what was probably the game’s #1 selling point to the r.e.d. album hits the internet. and for as much collective shit i’ve given dr. dre and snoop dogg over the past few years respectively, this is a great collaboration on all counts. and for those wondering, snoop’s limited to about 8 bars tops.

video: the game – pot of gold [f. chris brown] (2011)

[vodpod id=Video.13845972&w=425&h=350&fv=%26rel%3D0%26border%3D0%26]

as much as i dislike chris brown as a person, he’s prone to making hits with memorable hooks. he really pushed big sean’s single into what it was, and after a lot of ‘misses’ on game’s part for the r.e.d. album, he might’ve finally gotten the single to help keep the album’s record release at august 23rd. and the visuals/dance during the bridge are great.

the game – uncle otis [industry diss] (2011)

um, so this dumb bi-polar asshole disses everyone here:

-jay-z
-kanye west
-big sean
-lil wayne
-jennifer lopez
-drake
-frank ocean
-miguel
-50 cent
-tyler the creator
-rick ross

i mean i have no clue what the hell just happened. isn’t he collaborating with most of these people on his new record?

the game – pot of gold [f. chris brown] (2011)

sure enough, the song with chris brown is the best song game’s release for his new record. instead of getting real hood (see: “red nation”), the game enlists CB on hook duties for a more introspective number that’s sure to win over a few radio stations along the way.
