the collaborative writing effort of cee lo green and rivers cuomo, the r&b nugget “anyway” is set to appear on the platinum edition of green’s the lady killer. check out the lyric video, or as i like to call ‘em, karaoke style, up above.
many factors contribute to this clip of cee lo green’s “cry baby,” from last year’s the lady killer, being so damn great: there’s the playful 1950′s theme, the synchronized choreography, the gaggle of sun dressed honeys, but mostly it’s frickin’ jaleel white.
i’m not exactly sure why they used an alternate version of the song for the video. to be honest, i didn’t watch more than 30 seconds of this shit because of how disappointed i am with the song choice. the original version was close to being my favorite song of 2010, and i just don’t want to ruin that luster.
cee-lo hits the kimmel stage to perform a rousing rendition of his latest single from the lady killer. fairly surprised that this single hasn’t gotten even 1/8th of the play “fuck you” got, but then again, i’m not.
cee-lo’s newest video takes you back to the 90s when people had these sweet, nifty storylines to their music videos and made them matter. “bodies” is the latest cut from the lady killer to get the video treatment, but lets hope that “i want you” is on deck. also, look for janelle in the clip!
yeah, it’s 2:45 a.m. and i got bored. a new review for ya’ll to vibe with. if for some reason “fuck you” wasn’t enough of an incentive to pick this album and give it a spin, then let the part of the album that’s actually incredible and timeless. long after you tire of hearing “fuck you” every where you go, the rest of this album will serve you in the 11th hour.
speaking of cee-lo, mr. green stopped by the good morning america studios to bless them with a live performance of one of the poppier tracks from his latest full length. if you haven’t jumped on this album’s nuts yet, be sure you check out grizzly’s review for further convincing. definitely one of the years’ best.
this is funny. quick interview and witty banter with colbert, then the performance under the jump. this song’s about to run its course in a little bit, so live it up until you can’t listen to it for another year.
the lady killer is in stores today, and it goes without saying that it’s one of the best albums of this year, as late as it is. and if that wasn’t enough, we have two more gems that were exclusive to the apple folk. good thing we know how to bend rules.
a large chunk of this album is already out in the form of singles or whatevs, but now you can hear the entire album that comes highly anticipated for all three of the bears in the most legal of fashions. npr with the stream
